Feast of Saint Cecilia, Patron of Music
23 November 2025, from 11:15 AM – Church of Saint Bartholomeo, Solomeo
Saint Cecilia, Patron of Music, is one of the most cherished celebrations for the people of Solomeo. This occasion is not only a tribute to music and its protector, but also a popular festivity that brings the entire community together—a moment when the village gathers to reaffirm the bond between past and present, faith and culture, tradition and innovation.
Devotion to Saint Cecilia is deeply rooted in the history of the Solomeo Philharmonic. Since its earliest years, the band has chosen the feast of Saint Cecilia as an opportunity to celebrate its own existence and the universal value of music. It was a way to honor not only the patron saint, but also the efforts of the musicians who, year after year, worked to keep the village’s musical tradition alive. The festivities begin with Holy Mass, a moment of prayer and thanksgiving during which the Philharmonic performs liturgical pieces, transforming the religious celebration into an intense and engaging musical experience. For many, this is the most moving moment—an occasion to reflect on the value of music as a universal language that unites and inspires.
